Hannibal, the baby from Cartagena

On the occasion of the fifth edition of Le Strade del Paesaggio art festival - www.lestradedelpaesaggio.com - that will be held in Cosenza, Italy, in September and October 2011, I've been invited to contribute to the special picture book project titled “On the track of Hannibal”.
The book is inspired by a collection of tales written by Paolo Rumiz, author and journalist of the Italian newspaper “la Repubblica”, and it follows the adventures of the great African commander Hannibal while tracing the new routes of migrant people from the Mediterranean to Europe.
According to the project, which is sponsored by the provincial administration of Cosenza, a picture book made of illustrations by authors coming from every European country, will be realized and published. Each author is asked to illustrate one of the thirty tales written by Rumiz.
The book presentation will be followed by the opening ceremony of the exhibition of the original illustrations contained in the book. The opening ceremony is scheduled on September 24th 2011 in the famous headquarter of the political administration of Cosenza.
My work will be one of the thirty illustrations that will be published in the book and shown in the exhibition.
